Hi everyone! I’m Jessica Levine and I am a PR Intern at HJ-PR. I was born in Staten Island but raised in the beautiful garden state of NJ! I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology where I studied Advertising and Marketing Communications. Growing up, English was my best subject and writing was one of my favorite activities. I am a major introvert so I loved journaling to get all of my thoughts out. However, I always thrived in a creative writing setting. That’s one of the main reasons why I love PR so much! I have a passion for all things beauty-related and love making the occasional “Get Ready with Me” video. I currently live in Midtown, Manhattan which is where I’ve always dreamed of living. I truly feel like I’m living my best life. When I’m not working I’m probably out exploring some new restaurant or activity in NYC. There’s never a dull moment in this city.
In another life, I’m pretty sure I was a veterinarian. I am obsessed with animals and sometimes like them more than humans.
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d use the money to travel all over the world. Specifically, I’m dying to see all of Europe.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is to know your worth and never settle for less than you deserve!
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve puppies. I’m not sure what the day would entail but puppies need to be involved for sure.
What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars? Have fun with PR, it’ll show in your writing and make for really attention-grabbing press releases!
If I weren’t so damn good at my job, I’d probably be a makeup artist. In high school, I was always the girl who did all of my friend’s makeup for parties. I loved doing it and was convinced for a minute that was going to be my career.
Cats or dogs? Both, but leaning more toward dogs!
My favorite word in the English language is definitely “shook”. I love to use it when I’m shocked about something and it makes me laugh.
What’s the most inspiring part of your job? Seeing all of the big press wins shared in the team chat. It gives me so much excitement and motivates me to keep working hard!
The most important thing I learned before high school was to always have gratitude and be kind to everyone. People remember how you treat them and it will open doors for you. Something as simple as sending a thank you email goes a long way.
If I were a superhero, my superpower would be to read minds. I’m a curious person by nature and it would save me a lot of time trying to figure out what other people are thinking.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a beautician. I remember in elementary school I would tell people I wanted to do hair styling when I grew up.If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why? I’d be a fettuccine just because fettuccine alfredo is my favorite dish ever.
