Meet Yazmine, our Spring intern, who joins us all the way from the UK! Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design at the University of South Wales, Yazmine is eager to dive into the dynamic world of fashion PR and gain hands-on experience. We’re thrilled to have her on board and can’t wait to see the creative insights she’ll bring to the team!
- If you had to describe yourself in a PR pitch, what would it say? My name is Yazmine, and I am a passionate and creative fashion design student with a solid foundation in both hands on and digital creativity. With a keen eye for detail and a vibrant and bubbly personality, I am eager to immerse myself in the fashion and media industry. My journey in fashion and media has been marked by a commitment to learning and growth. As an outgoing individual I thrive in collaborative environments, and I am always seeking new skills to enhance my craft.
- What are you most looking forward to during your internship at HJ-PR? During my internship at HJ-PR I am most looking forward to working alongside skilled and knowledgeable people to help me learn new skills and a foot in the door to understanding how businesses and brands function.
- What’s your “power song” that gets you pumped for the workday? My Power song is from nostalgic 2000s “I’m just a girl” by no doubt because I LITERALLY am just a girl.
- If you could represent any dream client, who would it be and why? My dream client would be Vivienne Westwood or her team since she has now passed. I am so passionate about her brand and she is someone in the fashion industry who inspires me and I really look up to.
- What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve received (or ignored)? The best piece of career advice I’ve received is always follow your passion and make goals from it to achieve the best you can get, the saddest thing in life is wasted talent so showing of your unique way of life and dreams can get you far.
- If HJ-PR had a reality TV show, what would it be called? I think it would be called “pitch perfect” focusing on the art of pitching stories to the media and the challenges that can come with it!
- Describe a typical day at HJ-PR in three emojis: 😁☕️💁
- What’s one PR myth you’ve learned isn’t true? One myth about PR that I learnt not to be true is you only need PR in a crisis, many believe that PR is only necessary during challenging times. However in reality ongoing PR is vital for maintaining a positive image and building strong relationships that can help prevent crises in the first place.
- If you could have lunch with any public figure, who would it be and what would you ask them? Harry Styles – I’ve always been a fan of his and his former band One Direction. However I’d like to ask him about his fashion and who inspires him and I feel like he would have some good stories to tell about his music experience and maybe he’ll bring his mate Stevie Nicks along which is another celebrity I look up to and would love to meet.
- What’s your go-to coffee order (and how many cups do you need to survive the day)? A caramel oat milk latte or a Chai latte and let’s not talk about my addiction to coffee and cafes, sometimes it’s hard to resist walking past a Starbucks.
